Jet Protocol began winding down after development employees were laid off in August 2023 when the project could no longer fund full-time salaries and efforts to secure additional financing failed. The protocol disabled new lending on December 7, 2023, while continuing to allow loan repayment and collateral withdrawal. A co-founder announced that Jet Protocol Holdings LLC and the Swiss association established for the DAO would cease protocol operations on February 1, 2024 and begin dissolving their related legal entities, with managed front-end services going offline on that date, though deployed Solana programs remained on-chain and the codebase stayed open source.
