Neon raised $40 million in a private token-sale round led by Jump Capital in November 2021. Additional backers include Three Arrows Capital, Solana Capital, Rockaway Blockchain Fund, Ethereal Ventures, IDEO CoLab Ventures, and the Solana Foundation. A community token sale was held on CoinList in June 2023, offering 50 million NEON tokens at $0.10 each. As of March 2025, the project's roadmap positions Neon EVM as a Solana Network Extension focused on a Solana-native developer and user experience.
