Trezor is an open-source crypto hardware wallet and self-custody platform that describes itself as the original inventor of the hardware wallet, securing crypto for more than two million users worldwide. Trezor launched the Trezor Safe 7 in 2025, describing it as a fully wireless, quantum-ready hardware wallet using the TROPIC01 transparent secure element, developed by affiliated company Tropic Square, which describes TROPIC01 as the world's first transparent, auditable secure element. Trezor is also affiliated with Invity, a crypto-asset service provider authorised and supervised by the Czech National Bank under MiCA, and with Vexl, a mobile app for peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading without KYC. A report by TechRadar noted phishing letters impersonating hardware wallet providers including Trezor, directing users to fake sites requesting recovery phrases, an activity the report attributed to external attackers.
