Messenger (@messenger) — Twitter Score 10 out of 1000

Messenger is a free messaging application developed by Meta Platforms, Inc. that supports text, audio, and video communication across mobile and other devices. Messenger's Twitter Score is 10 out of 1000 as of October 2026, ranking #93,753 among 493,668 tracked accounts.

Messenger was first launched as a standalone product by Meta Platforms, Inc. and has since grown into one of the most widely used messaging platforms in the world. The application supports real-time text messaging alongside audio and video calls, and remains free to use. Meta AI has been integrated into Messenger alongside Meta's other applications, expanding its capabilities beyond standard messaging.

Messenger has undergone notable structural changes in recent years. Meta began rolling out default end-to-end encryption for personal Messenger messages and calls on December 6, 2023, using the Signal Protocol and Meta's own Labyrinth Protocol. In 2025, Meta retired the standalone desktop applications for Messenger while keeping the mobile apps active. Meta has also announced that the standalone Messenger.com website will stop providing messaging in April 2026, redirecting web users to Facebook Messages, with the Messenger mobile app continuing to operate.

Messenger has published 6,291 posts on the platform. The account has been mentioned by 173 accounts, totaling 564 mentions.
