OptyFi is a now-defunct AI-powered DeFi yield optimizer that shut down in July 2023, citing regulatory concerns over how its OPTY governance token, vault tokens, and vault structure might be treated under securities or investment-fund law. OptyFi's Twitter Score is 14 out of 1000 as of July 2026, ranking #74,822 among 531,432 tracked accounts.
OptyFi was founded by Faisal Qureshi and served as the first incubated project of Open DeFi DAO. Its automated vaults used machine learning and data analytics to monitor DeFi strategies and route user assets according to individual risk preferences, with a strategy engine capable of executing multi-step leveraged-yield strategies across multiple protocols. The beta launched on Ethereum in January 2022, and the protocol was also tracked on Polygon.
OptyFi completed a $2.4 million seed round on January 31, 2022, led by Dialectic, with participation from Stratos Technologies, Octava, Wave Financial, 0xVentures, Platinum Capital, and other investors. The shutdown in July 2023 followed an unsuccessful token sale and a compromise of the project's Discord server, through which community members were exposed to a fraudulent token-sale link. OptyFi stated it would refund tokens purchased in the sale. At the time of its closure, the protocol reported $0 TVL and the OPTY governance token had not been publicly released. OptyFi has published 1,382 posts on the platform and has been mentioned by 20 accounts a total of 60 times.
