Dinero is a DeFi protocol and DAO, originally known as Redacted Cartel, that rebranded to Dinero Protocol and has migrated its community to that account. Dinero's Twitter Score is 0.3 out of 1000 as of July 2026, ranking #448,627 among 478,684 tracked accounts.
Dinero was founded by Sami and built its original reputation around a suite of smart contracts targeting on-chain liquidity, governance, and cash flow for DeFi protocols. The project introduced the Dinero concept in April 2023 as an experimental protocol combining a permissionless RPC, a decentralized stablecoin, and an ETH liquid-staking token, positioned alongside its existing Hidden Hand and Pirex products. The token migration from the legacy ecosystem went live on July 22, 2024, replacing BTRFLY with DINERO at a rate of 1 BTRFLY to 2,000 DINERO, and replacing rlBTRFLY with DINERO staking.
Dinero's current product suite includes pxETH, a decentralized collateral-backed stablecoin called pxUSD, and a public permissionless RPC. pxETH is minted 1:1 when ETH is deposited through the protocol's immutable PirexETH smart contracts, with most deposited ETH staked by Dinero validators and a remainder held as an ETH buffer. DINERO serves as the protocol's native governance and incentives token, with a maximum supply of 1.3 billion tokens distributed over a ten-year period. Staked DINERO carries three governance votes per token, compared with one vote for an unstaked token. Security audits of Pirex ETH have been conducted by Spearbit and Pashov, with a Code4rena bug-bounty partnership also in place. Dinero is affiliated with the Secure Staking Alliance and EigenCloud.
Dinero's portfolio includes Jetstream Markets and Curvance.
