About Ren's Twitter Score
Ren is a cross-chain interoperability protocol that enables the movement of value between blockchains, formerly known as Republic Protocol. Ren's Twitter Score is 180 out of 1000 (an Excellent rating) as of August 2026, ranking #2,764 (top 1%) among 483,944 tracked accounts.
Ren was founded by Taiyang Zhang and launched RenVM, its virtual-machine mainnet, in May 2020 following a $34 million ICO in 2018. The protocol's native REN token is an ERC-20 asset used as a bond for Darknodes that power RenVM. Ren 1.0 facilitated over $13 billion in cross-chain volume across multiple UTXO-based and account-based blockchains before being sunset. Alameda Research previously backed Ren, having acquired it in early 2021, but following the FTX and Alameda bankruptcy, the team moved to wind down Ren 1.0 and develop Ren 2.0. The Ren Foundation, incorporated as a non-profit foundation company in April 2023, now supports the protocol's continued development, with Ren 2.0 listed as coming soon.
