Gary Wang, co-founder of FTX, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and securities fraud charges and testified in Bankman-Fried's criminal trial. In August 2024, a U.S. court ordered FTX to pay more than $12.7 billion to compensate customers and fraud victims. FTX's reorganization plan became effective on January 3, 2025, with first distributions to creditors expected within 60 days of that date.
