Velocity's DRIFT governance token has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 DRIFT, with 555,713,264 DRIFT in circulation as of November 18, 2025, representing 55.6% of total supply following the Token Generation Event in May 2024. Following the April 1, 2026 exploit, Drift stated that every affected wallet would receive a separate recovery token representing a proportional claim on a recovery pool, with Tether committing up to $127.5 million and strategic partners committing up to $20 million toward relaunch and user recovery. As of June 4, 2026, Drift stated its focus was relaunching a security-first, USDT-based perpetual exchange on Solana, with Noah Prince joining as Head of Protocol.
