XToken Terminal was a permissionless DeFi capital-markets and Uniswap V3 liquidity-management platform that shut down in September 2023 after announcing it lacked resources to continue active development. XToken Terminal's Twitter Score is 52 out of 1000 (a Good rating) as of August 2026, ranking #17,012 (top 5%) among 483,944 tracked accounts.
XToken Terminal was founded by Michael J. Cohen, beginning development after receiving a Synthetix grant to build a wrapped SNX staking strategy, and launched in July 2020 as a yield aggregator offering ERC-20 staking wrappers. The project pivoted in December 2021 away from its xToken Market asset-management model toward permissionless infrastructure, with its Terminal product enabling projects to configure and deploy incentivized Uniswap V3 liquidity programs. In November 2021, XToken Terminal announced a $2 million fundraise backed by Zeal Capital, Cygni Capital, Origin Capital, Lattice Capital, the Kyber Network team, and investor Kain Warwick.
XToken Terminal suffered two significant security incidents. In May 2021, its xBNTa and xSNXa contracts were exploited in a single transaction, resulting in approximately $25 million in losses from Bancor and Balancer liquidity pools alongside 416 ETH extracted directly from the xSNXa contract. A second exploit in August 2021 targeted the xSNX contract, with estimated holder losses of around $4.5 million, leading the team to sunset that product and outline an XTK-based compensation program. The platform's native token, XTK, had launched on Ethereum mainnet in February 2021 with a stated maximum supply of one billion tokens. On September 12, 2023, the team announced the full sunset of xToken, noting that frontends for Terminal, Market, and Cafe would remain accessible temporarily while users redeemed assets. XToken Terminal had previously been affiliated with Uniswap Foundation.
XToken Terminal has published 13 posts on the platform and has 12,092 followers as of August 2026. XToken Terminal has been mentioned by 15 accounts, with 26 total mentions.
